Eric Jackson has also worked specifically with the Princeton special teams and helped current senior Greg Fields become one of the top all-purpose players in the nation in 2004.

In 2002, all four of Jackson's starters earned All-Ivy recognition, including current upperclassman Jay McCareins, who also earned first-team All-Ivy status last season. He coached a pair of first-year starters in 2003, J.J. Artis and Tim Strickland, and he could have one of the best backfields in the Ivy League this season. Prior to joining the Tiger staff, Jackson spent two seasons as defensive coordinator at Ithaca.

He moved to the college level first at Cincinnati from 1987-88 and then at Cornell, where he helped the Big Red to the 1990 Ivy League title. He served as secondary coach at Idaho in 1993, when the Vandals advanced to the Division I-AA semifinals before losing to eventual-champion Youngstown State.

Jackson has had coaching internships with the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers, and he spent three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Cal Poly. He rejoined the staff at Cornell for one year before moving crosstown to Ithaca.
