Karl Malone entered the NBA during the 1985 draft. He was underestimated by most NBA scouts, but the Utah Jazz picked him as the 13th overall pick.  He was nicknamed "The Mailman" because he always delivers.

Malone was named MVP several times.  He was an All-Star selection 14 out of his 15 years in the NBA.  Malone was named one of the "50 Greatest Players in NBA History" and he was an 11 time All-NBA First Team selection.

Karl Malone's real super stardom emerged during the 1988-89 season.  This was the season that John Stockton joined the team. Malone averaged 27.7 points a game, reached a career high of 12.0 rebounds and ranked fifth in scoring and fourth in rebounding.Malone and Stockton were named All-NBA second team and appeared together in the all-star game.

The duo led the Jazz to the playoffs a few times, but Malone never took home a championship.  However, he did take home an Olympic Gold Medal twice as he played for the "Dream Team" during the 1992 and 1996 games.

Karl Malone retired  from the NBA during the 2005 season.  He was at that time playing with the Los Angeles Lakers alongside Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.
