Jacob Tamme was born March 15, 1985 in Lexington, Kentucky and is a tight end for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. He played collegiately for the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
Tamme was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the 4th round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He and the Colts agreed to a 4-year contract with undisclosed terms on July 23, 2008.
Tamme has been a back up for Dallas Clark and always get to play either in the pre-season or the last few games of the regular season. After week 7 of 2010 season, Dallas Clark was placed on Injured Reserve after an injury to wrist and Jacob Tamme took over the starting job as Colts tight end. Tamme surprised everyone by producing good statistical numbers and brought comparisions between him and Dallas Clark. Tamme is expected to finish the 2010 season as a starter.
Tamme signed with the Atlanta Falcons on March 19, 2015.
