Donald Glover, born in 1983, is an actor, writer, comedian and musician. Glover first came to attention for his work in the sketch group Derrick Comedy, and he is perhaps best known for his role as community college student Troy Barnes on the NBC comedy series "Community." He graduated from New York University with a degree in Dramatic Writing in 2006.

Glover has also been a writer for the NBC series "30 Rock," where he developed the character Two-fer along with most of the writing for actor Tracy Morgan in the first season. He was presented the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy Series at the February 2009 ceremony for his work on the third season of "30 Rock."

Glover's stand-up special aired on Comedy Central in March 2010. In June of that year, it was announced that Donald would receive the Rising Comedy Star award at the Just for Laughs festival in July.

Along with the rest of the Derrick Comedy group, Donald wrote and starred in the feature-length film "Mystery Team," released in 2009.

Donald Glover DJs and produces his own music under the moniker "mcDJ." His current album releases include "Love Letter From An Unbreakable Bottle" and "Utterances of the Heart."

As a side project, Glover raps as Childish Gambino and released the album entitled "Sick Boi" in June 2008. In September 2009, Childish Gambino released the album "Poindexter." A pair of mixtapes entitled "I Am Just A Rapper" and "I Am Just A Rapper 2" were released in close succession in early 2010. He released his third album, "Culdesac," in July 2010, and his latest album, "Camp," hit No. 2 on the US Rap and R&B charts in 2011.

In addition to his role on "Community," Glover starred in the film "The To Do List."
