Daryl "Chill" Mitchell has proven to the world he is a fighter. In 2002, Mitchell joined the cast of NBC's "Ed," starring as Eli, the new supervising manager of Stuckybowl. The role came only 9 months after Mitchell survived a serious motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the mid-chest down. After several spinal cord surgeries and nine months of physical therapy, he was released from the hospital. Mitchell's work on "Ed" is his first role as a paraplegic.

Born in the Bronx and raised on Long Island, Mitchell first gained attention as a member of the three-man rap group Groove B. Chill. Mitchell made the transition into acting when the group was cast in the 1990 film House Party. Mitchell enjoyed making the movie so much he decided to focus on an acting career. Since then he has made over 15 feature films, including "The Country Bears," "Galaxy Quest," "Black Knight," "Lucky Numbers," "10 Things I Hate About You," and "Sgt. Bilko."

Mitchell has also worked extensively in television prior to his current role on "Ed." He is often remembered for his work as the impeccably dressed Leo Michaels on "Veronica's Closet" and as the witty and racially charged Dexter Walker on the critically acclaimed, "The John Larroquette Show." He earned guest-starring parts on "The Cosby Show," "Law & Order," "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and "In The House." He also appeared in Alex Haley's miniseries "Queen" and co-starred in the cable movie "Rebound," directed by "ER's" Eriq La Salle.
