SXSW is already rolling out what promises to be an impressive 2017 speaker lineup.  One of those already booked to appear is Academy Award-nominated director Lee Daniels

Daniels will serve as the keynote speaker for the Film track.  In addition to announcing their second wave of speakers, SXSW also opened registration on September 9th.

SXSW is slated for March 10-19 this year in Austin, Texas.  This year, those who purchase Interactive, Film and Music badges will have expanded access to additional experiences in the conference.

Daniels gained great notoriety as a producer on "Monster's Ball" in 2001.  The 2009 film he directed, "Precious", was nominated for six Academy Awards.

Other films Daniels has directed include, "Shadowboxer", "The Paperboy" and "The Butler".  Most recently, he has taken his expertise to television as the co-creator, executive producer and director of "Empire".

Next year, Daniels has another show coming to Fox called "Star".  There are certainly many career highlights to come for one of the hottest entertainment creators in Hollywood.
