This past weekend, the Integrative Health and Wellness Summit added some superstar punch to their speaker lineup. Singer-songwriter Jewel served as the opening keynote speaker at the event on September 9th.
The summit was held in Mountain Village, Colorado. It was the second annual event and hosted by the Telluride First Foundation.
Jewel talked about her bestselling memoir, "Never Broken" and how she uses mindful techniques in her own life. In addition to the speaking presentations, there were also guided hikes, cooking demonstrations and yoga to take advantage of.
Jewel has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. She broke onto the scene in 1995 with the release of her first studio album, "Pieces of You", that went 12 times platinum.
Off that first album, Jewel produced two singles that reached the second spot on the Billboard Top 100 list. They each made the year-end singles chart in 1997 and 1998.
Overall, Jewel has been nominated for four Grammy Awards. She has been a judge of several singing reality shows including "Platinum Hit" on Bravo and NBC's "The Sing-Off".
