Last Thursday, the Flourish Women's Summit got a special presentation from a top female entrepreneur. Gigi's Cupcakes founder Gigi Butler spoke at the inaugural event.
The summit was held at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau, Missouri from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It gave women the opportunity to network with one another and hear from influential speakers across a variety of industries.
Butler was able to share crucial business tips and some of the things she has learned in her career. There was also an expo on site.
Butler opened her first Gigi's Cupcakes location in Nashville, Tennessee in 2008. It has since grown to be the world's largest cupcake franchise, boasting 101 locations.
Originally, Butler had moved to Nashville for a singing career and her eventual road was not on her mind. She did always have an entrepreneurial spirit, founding Gigi's Cleaning Company as a 15-year-old.
In 2013, Gigi's franchise locations grossed an estimated $43 million. Butler's success had led to greater opportunities and she is currently in development on several entertainment projects.
