Children's author Rosemary Wells made a stop in Connecticut last month. She held a book signing for her latest work, "Say Hello, Sophie!"

The signing was held on December 17th at 2 p.m. at The Hickory Stick Bookshop in Washington Depot. The store has been independently owned and in operation for over 60 years.

The event was free and open to the public and interested people could also request a signed copy online. "Say Hello, Sophie!" tells the story of an irrepressible, charming and endearing two-year-old.

Wells is the author of over 100 children's books and is best known for creating the Max and Ruby series. The star bunnies from that series are now featured in their own show on Nick Jr.

Wells is a New York City native and began her writing career in the 1970s. Since over 40 books featuring Max and Ruby have been published.

Wells also travels the country as a literacy advocate. She lives in New England and is the mother of two grown daughters and a grandmother of four.
