Bestselling Writer John Grisham Speaks at the Bookmarks Festival of Books and Authors

One of the most well-known authors of the modern era spoke yesterday at the Bookmarks Festival of Books and Authors.  Bestseller John Grisham gave the closing keynote address at the event. 

The event was held at 4 p.m. in the Reynolds Auditorium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Grisham also participated in book signing attached to his speaking appearance. 

General admission tickets to hear from Grisham were $22 in advance and $30 at the door.  A general admission ticket plus a spot in the book signing line was $35. 

Grisham is well known for his courtroom thrillers that have become international hits.  Overall, he has sold 275 million copies worldwide and had his books translated into 42 languages.  

In 1989, Grisham published his first novel, "A Time To Kill", after it was previously rejected by 28 different publishers.  His second novel, "The Firm", spent 47 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list and was turned into a 1993 film starring Tom Cruise.  

Incredibly, 11 of Grisham's books have been turned into films.  Before becoming a famed author, he had experience as a criminal attorney and Mississippi House of Representatives member.
