Actress America Ferrera has become an inspiration to women everywhere, but is particularly revered in the Latino community.  Her latest cover spot on the February edition of Latina Magazine further emphasizes the weight she carries.

Ferrera has appealed to the masses since her breakout in show business with Ugly Betty.  The cover title, "America The Beautiful: Back in Primetime & Ready To Stay", also refers to her latest endeavor as the star of the new NBC workplace comedy, Superstore.

There is no question that Ferrara continues to be a driver for diversity and inclusion.  Her company, Take Fountain Productions, looks to make projects that depict a truer vision of the world we live in.

With a standout acting career, Ferrera has built up the credibility to do things her way.  In 2007, she became the first Latina to ever win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Prior to gaining worldwide fame with Ugly Betty, Ferrera built the groundwork for her career with her appearance in Real Women Have Curves and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.  In 2016, she will star in the satirical comedy film, Special Correspondents.

Ferrera graduated from the University of Southern California in 2013 with a degree in international relations and remains active in political issues that affect Latinos.  She is co-chair of Voto Latino's Artist Coalition.
