Ty Murray was born on October 11, 1969. He was All-Around Champion Cowboy at Arizona High School Rodeo Association. In 1987 he took Arizona to National All-Around Championship. According to Guinness Book of World Records he was youngest person (18 years) to join Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association. He won World All-Around Rodeo Championship title seven times from 1989-1994 and then again in 1998. He was also the highest earning person in bareback riding, Saddle Bronc Riding and Bareback Bronc Riding and Bull Riding for the above mentioned years. He also won Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association World Bull Riding Championship title in 1993 and 1998. He had several injuries during his career including torn posterior cruciate ligament and broken shoulder. In 1995 after tearing posterior ligament in both his knees, he had to take time out of rodeo for a year. During this time he had both of knees reconstructed. His return to rodeo in 1996 was limited to six weeks as he injured his shoulder during bull riding. After recovering from shoulder injury he again broke his shoulder in 1997 and was out of rodeo for a year. After his amazing return to rodeo in 1998 he won both PRCA World All-Around Rodeo Championship and PRCA World Champion Bull Rider. He finally called it a time on his career and retired in 2002. He is also co-founder and board member of Professional Bull Riders. He became PBR president in 2004.
