Paul R. Charron is a speaker and a Senior Advisor at Warburg Pincus, a New York-based private equity firm, and serves as non-executive Chairman of the Board at Campbell Soup Company. He formerly served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Liz Claiborne Inc., the global retail and fashion company. Paul Charron joined Liz Claiborne in May, 1994 as vice chairman and chief operating officer. One year later, he became president and chief executive officer, and was elected chairman in May, 1996. He retired as chief executive officer in November, 2006, and as chairman of the board on December 31, 2006. Charron has been involved in a number of industry and philanthropic activities, including leadership positions on the boards of the National Retail Federation and the American Apparel and Footwear Association. He is currently a director of Vital Voices Global Partnership and chair of the New York City Investment Fund's Retail and Tourism Sector. Most recently, he became a member of the U.S. Department of State's Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy. As a speaker, Charron speaks on a variety of topics, including CEO Perspectives, Turnarounds, The Business of Fashion, Integrating Acquisitions, and Corporate Governance and a Contemporary Board. Paul Charron received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University. He served five years as a naval officer and is a combat veteran of Vietnam. Charron currently resides in Darien, Connecticut with his wife, Kathy. They have two children.
