Mix Diskerud was born October 2, 1990 and is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for New York City FC in Major League Soccer and the United States national team.
His mother coined his nickname "Mix" when he was learning to walk, as he had lots of energy and ran around the house like a mixmaster.
On January 13, 2015, New York City FC announced they had signed Diskerud. He scored New York City's first ever MLS goal, making it 1–0 against Orlando City in a game that eventually finished 1–1. On June 13, 2015 in a game against Montreal, he, alongside David Villa and Kwadwo Poku, scored a goal (which was his second of the season) in a 3-1 victory.On July 26, 2015 Diskerud came on as a sub against Orlando City SC and scored his third goal of the season in a 5–3 victory.
