Kristen Soltis Anderson is a Republican researcher and strategist and a columnist at The Daily Beast and partner and co-founder of Echelon Insights. She previously served as Vice President of The Winston Group, a Washington DC-based opinion research and political communications firm where she spent eight years studying emerging trends in politics and policy. In 2013, she was named one of TIME magazine’s “30 under 30 Changing the World,” National Journal magazine’s “25 Most Influential Women in Washington Under 35” and one of Marie Claire magazine’s “New Guard” of the 50 most connected rising female leaders.

At The Winston Group, Anderson did extensive research on both political and policy topics, studying subjects such as the youth vote and education reform. She is currently working on a book about what data will mean for the 2016 election and beyond for Broadside Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, due for publication in the spring of 2015.

Most recently, she was the primary author of “Grand Old Party For A Brand New Generation,” an extensive analysis of research on young voters with recommendations for how Republicans can build support among a new generation. During the 2012 election cycle, she served as the communications advisor to Crossroads Generation, a Republican organization focused on winning the youth vote. She currently serves as an issue advocacy advisor to the YG Network in support of their efforts to train female conservative advocates.

Anderson appears on programs such as CNN’s “State of the Union,” Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor,” and HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” She has written for for U.S. News and World Report and Huffington Post Pollster. Her research on the youth vote has been featured in a 2013 New York Times Magazine cover story, “Can the Republicans be Saved from Obsolescence?” She has also written for POLITICO, Campaigns & Elections magazine, National Review Online’s “The Corner,” and The Orlando Sentinel. She has been a panelist at events such as the Forbes Women’s Summit, the International Democrat Union’s Young Leaders Forum, as well as at conferences such as South by Southwest Interactive (SXSWi).

Anderson has been published in academic journals and contributed a chapter to Margin of Victory: How Technologists Help Politicians Win Elections on the subject of polling and trends in opinion research. Her graduate thesis research on young voters received "Best Thesis" honors from Johns Hopkins University. She has completed the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. In 2002, she was appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to the Florida Commemorative Quarter Committee.

Anderson was previously the co-host of “The Week In Blog” program for Bloggingheads.tv and was a co-host of Variety’s “Wilshire and Washington” weekly podcast.

Originally from Orlando, FL, Anderson currently resides in Washington with her husband Chris. She has served on the board of the Junior League of Washington, the America’s Future Foundation and also serves on the leadership team of Maverick PAC.
