Kevin Kotecki served as President of Pabst Brewing Company since October 2005. Mr. Kotecki served as Chief Executive Officer of Pabst Brewing Company since October 2005. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer, Refrigerated Foods Group of ConAgra Foods Inc. since May 2003. Prior to ConAgra Foods Inc., he served as the President of Brach's Confections, Inc. from 2000 to 2003 and Chief Operating Officer and also served as its Chief Executive Officer. He also served as a Area Vice President and General Manager, Coors Brewing Company from 1997 to 2000.
Mr. Kotecki has been a Member of Advisory Board of Group O, Inc. since February 2009. He holds an MBA from Michigan State’s Kellogg School of Business. Mr. Kotecki holds a BBA from the University of Iowa in Finance and a Masters of Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University with concentrations in marketing and finance.
At Kellogg, Kevin developed a passion for Marketing, and upon graduation accepted a position with Procter & Gamble in brand management. He spent six years with P&G in Cincinnati, leading the Folgers and Jif brands. In 1994, Kevin moved to Denver to pursue a new challenge in marketing Coors beer, first as Director of Marketing and then as Vice President of Marketing. Kevin ultimately became Vice President and General Manager of Coors Northwest Division.
In 2000, Kevin left Coors to join Brach's Confections as President and CEO. Brach's had experienced dramatic declines in sales and profit over the previous 10 years. Working closely with his leadership team, Kevin was able to orchestrate a successful turnaround at Brach's, dramatically increasing profitability and making Brach's the fastest growing company in the industry. Several years into his assignment at Brach's, Kevin was pursued by ConAgra Foods.
In 2005, Kevin joined Pabst Brewing Company as CEO. Pabst Brewing is the combination of many iconic brewing companies, including Pabst, Stroh's, Schlitz, Heileman, Lone Star, Schaefer, Rainier, Olympia, and Falstaff. After 13 consecutive years of declining top line and bottom line results, Pabst was on the verge of bankruptcy in 2005. At Pabst, Kevin built a new team, a new culture, and led the development of a new vision and breakthrough strategy.
Five years later, brand Pabst was the fastest growing brand in the industry and a national phenomenon. This great success combined with overall portfolio growth drove Pabst Brewing Company operating profit up more than +100% and EBITDA up nearly +80%. After the sale of the company to new owners, Kevin resigned his post as CEO Pabst in March 2011 and is now pursuing new business challenges with a focus on Private Equity Investments.
Kevin is currently serving on the board of directors of Group O, one of the largest Hispanic owned companies in the US. He is also serving on the board of trustees of The Chicago School, a network of specialized higher education institutions with campuses in California, Illinois and the District of Columbia.
