Hank Parker Jr. started his career racing go-karts near his hometown of Denver, North Carolina.

Parker Jr. moved up to full size stock cars in 1993. Hank ran a street stock car purchased from Dale Earnhardt Jr. at the Concord Motorsports Park. At Concord, he won 7 feature races in only 18 starts.

In 1994, Hank ventured into late models. That year, Parker Jr. won one event and captured 3 poles. In 1995, he won 2 events and also racked up 5 top-fives and 10 top-10s.

Parker Jr. then moved on to NASCAR, racing in the All Pro Series. In Hank's first season, he ran a limited schedule, but still won a race. In his first full season of All Pro racing, Hank won 2 races and was also honored with the Most Popular Driver Award. During that season, Parker set a speed record at the Homestead Motorsports Complex and finished 4th in the final standings.

He made a few starts in the Busch Series in1998. He only ran 3 races that year, but finished 6th in his third start.

1999 marked Hank's rookie year in the Busch Series. He and his team turned in 3 top-10s and one top-five with a season high of 3rd at South Boston Speedway. The next year, he scored 2 top-fives and 9 top-tens and won his first career pole at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Hank Parker's 1st start in the Cup series came in 2002 behind the wheel of a Ray Evernham Dodge at Rockingham Speedway.
