Radric Davis, better known by his stage name Gucci Mane, is an American rapper. Davis was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and later moved with his single mother to Atlanta. He enjoyed writing poetry as a child, and began rapping at age 14.

In 2005, Davis released his independent debut album entitled Trap House, which featured the successful single “Icy” with Young Jeezy. The album peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart and No. 20 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.

Hard to Kill followed in 2006 and included the hit single “Freaky Gurl.” The song peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks chart, No. 19 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and at No. 62 on the Hot 100 Singles chart. Hard to Kill reached #6 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart and No. 13 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. Back to the Trap Housepeaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and No. 6 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

His third independent album, Trap-a-Thon was released in 2007 and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart and No. 9 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.

In 2009 he made 17 guest appearances including the remixes of “Boom Boom Pow” by Black Eyed Peas, “Obsessed” by Mariah Carey and “5 Star Chick” by Yo Gotti and made a guest appearance on Mario's “Break Up.”

A fourth independent album, Murder Was the Case, was released in 2009. Two singles were released off the album, “Stoopid” and “Runnin' Back.”

Gucci Mane's second major label studio album The State vs. Radric Davis was released under the label Warner Bros. Records in 2009. Its first single, “Wasted,” featuring Plies, was originally from Mane's 2009 mixtape Writing on the Wall. The Appeal: Georgia's Most Wanted, his third studio album, was released in 2010 on 1017 Brick Squad Records, Warner Bros. Records and Asylum Records. A fifth independent album, The Return Of Mr. Zone 6 was released in 2011. It peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the Top Rap Albums chart.

Gucci Mane made his acting debut in the 2013 movie Spring Breakers featuring himself, James Franco, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine.
