Eric Weddle, born January of 1985, is an American football free safety for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Utah, where he was recognized as a consensus All-American, and was drafted by the Chargers in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Weddle is considered to be one of the best safeties in the NFL. He has been named to the Pro Bowl three times, and has been honored as an All-Pro five times.
