Don Gallegos joined the King Soopers Family as a Grocery buyer in 1965. He quickly developed a great passion for superior customer service and his attention to customers' needs grew along with his deep regard for people.
He served in nearly every area of the supermarket industry throughout his 43-year career, among these: buying, merchandising, warehousing and store operations. Gallegos was named Executive Vice-President of King Soopers in 1979. He kept that position for three years before joining the King Soopers parent company, Dillon Companies, Inc. in 1982. Don was eventually named President of King Soopers.
In April of 1998, Don retired from King Soopers, remaining active in the industry by serving as the Director Emeritus of the Western Association of Food Chains. Don is currently a consultant and an in-demand speaker for businesses, organizations and school associations. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Regis High School, Regis University, and Kwik Trip Convenience Stores of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Don is a past Board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and of the Colorado National Bank.
