Brett Hatton is the founder, visionary, and design chief of Four Hands. Brett started the company in his home country of England after being inspired by a personal trip he took in 1991, retracing the ancient Silk Trade route from China to Europe. Brett relocated to his current Austin headquarters in 1996. The original business was importing antiques, but Brett swiftly refocused on wholesaling his own unique designs. Brett pioneered the high-end furniture industry in India, introducing production techniques that facilitated a more sophisticated appeal. Brett was an early entrant in sourcing furniture from China, establishing a permanent overseas office in Ningbo in 2003 with a staffed quality assurance team and purchasing a factory.
Four Hands operates four wholesale showrooms in the U.S., including Austin, Atlanta, High Point, and Las Vegas. The company is routinely hailed for trend-setting designs, multi-tiered marketing campaigns, and themed market showroom presentations. Among its current accounts, Four Hands can count 20 of Top 100 U.S. furniture retailers as well as the top retailer in Australia and the #2 retailer in the U.K.
