From the state of Texas, Bob Lilly was as an All-American football player at TCU and star defensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys from 1961 to 1974.
Lilly was the first ever number one draft pick of the Cowboys in 1961 and was named "Rookie of the Year that year.
Bob was an All-Pro 7 times as well as an 11-time Pro Bowler. Bob had the honor of being the first name inscribed in the "Ring of Honor" above the field in Texas Stadium.
In 1980, Bob Lilly was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
He was named a member of the "Sporting News" All-Century NFL Team.
Lilly was inducted to the college football Hall Of Fame. He was also the first Cowboy inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
He is a member of the NFL's "75th Anniversary Team"
He won one Super Bowl(VI-1972).
