TV Personality Dr. Phil Becomes Spokesperson for AstroZeneca Diabetes Drug

Dr. Phil McGraw has lived with type 2 diabetes for the past 25 years. As a result, McGraw is the perfect spokesperson for AstraZeneca.
AstraZeneca has hired him to represent their diabetes drug, Byudereon. On behalf of the company, McGraw will be making appearances to talk about the drug and how he has lived most of his adult life with the disease.
There will also be a doctor present at his appearances to further detail the benefits of Byudereon. According to AstraZeneca, he has been using the drug to manage his condition since 2012.
Dr. Phil is known to television audiences around the country for his syndicated self-help talk show. His show has been on the air since 2002 and it in combination with other businesses has made him one of the highest-earning celebrities in the world.
Prior to becoming a TV star, McGraw founded a trial consulting firm. Through the firm, he was discovered by Oprah Winfrey and became a hit on her show as a guest in the mid-1990's.
McGraw has written several books and appeared in a handful of other TV programs and films. He holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of North Texas.
