Mar 08 2016

At the end of last month, rocker Lita Ford got to speak about the ups and downs of stardom. She discussed her recently released memoir and held a book signing at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
Ford's book, "Living Like a Runaway", came out on February 23rd. It discusses the struggles she faced as a female guitarist in a male dominated world.
The 40-minute discussion was put on by Anderson's Bookshops. It was moderated by local journalist Steve Itter.
Ford gained popularity as the lead guitarist of The Runaways in the 1970s. She also embarked on a successful solo career, recording a duet "Close My Eyes Forever" with Ozzy Osborne that reached #8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
Following a 15-year hiatus, Ford made a comeback in 2009 with Wicked Wonderland and since released the album Living Like a Runaway in 2012. In 2013, she was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
There has been a dramatic film and a documentary produced in recent years about the short, but iconic run of The Runaways. Next month, Ford is releasing an album titled "Time Capsule" that is comprised of previously unreleased tracks.
