Race Expert Julianne Malveaux Holds Virginia Book Signing

Tonight, one of America's top expert on race is holding a book event in Richmond, Virginia. Julianne Malveaux will be having a reading and signing of "Are We Better Off?: Race, Obama and Public Policy."
Malveaux will be at Chop Suey Books from 6-7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
"Are we Better Off" was released this past February. It explores President Obama's tenure in office, pulling from media commentary and research to address his successes and failures.
Malveaux's has written for top publications like USA Today, Ms. Magazine and Essence. From 1990-2003, she had a syndicated weekly column that ran in newspapers across the country.
After receiving a Ph.D. from MIT in economics in 1980, Malveaux has served on the faculty for several universities. She was also the 15th President of Bennett College for Women.
Malveaux is currently on the Board of Directors for the Economic Policy Institute and The Recreation Wish List Committee. She is the president and owner of the non-profit, Economic Education.
