Pulitzer Prize-Winning Author Stacy Schiff Appears at Amherst College LitFest

Amherst College has pulled out all the stops for the first edition of their literary festival that begins next week.  Pulitzer Prize-winning author Stacy Schiff is just one of the notable attendees on the schedule for the 2016 LitFest.

The event runs March 3rd through the 5th and it is free and open to the public  Schiff will participate in a conversation with Black Hawk Down author Mark Bowden on the final day of the festival.

That presentation will also feature a continental breakfast and run from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Lewis-Sebring Commons at Valentine Hall on campus.  Following their talk, Schiff and Bowden will answer questions and sign books.  

Schiff won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography in 2000 for Vera.  She also was a finalist in the same category in 1995 for Saint-Exupery: A Biography of Antoine de Saint Exupery.

Last year, Schiff published The Witches: Salem.  She serves as a guest columnist for The New York Times as well.

Schiff got her start as an editor at Simon & Schuster.  She is currently a trustee of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
