Next Thursday, The Rosenbach Museum in Philadelphia is welcoming one of the most celebrated children's authors. Norton Juster will hold a book signing at the museum.
It is part of a series of events celebrating the closing of the exhibit, "Down the Rabbit Hole: Celebrating 150 Years of Alice in Wonderland". There will be a discussion about Alice in Wonderland before Juster signs.
He will also discuss the influence of the legendary novel on children's literature and his own work. Tickets for the event are $15 and also include free admission to the museum.
Juster is the author of 12 books, but his first put him on the map. "The Phantom Tollbooth" was released in 1961 and it has become known as a modern classic.
Both of his first two books were adapted for film. Though he became renowned for his writing, Juster stuck with his day job in the world of architecture.
Juster was the professor of architecture and environmental design at Hampshire College from 1970-1992. The same year he started at Hampshire, Juster also co-founded his own architectural firm, Juster Pope Associates.
