Mental Health America CEO Paul Gionfriddo Holds Book Discussion at Asnuntuck Community College

Paul Gionfriddo is a former state legislator turned health system overhaul advocate.  He has written a book, "Losing Tim: How Our Health Systems Failed My Son with Schizophrenia".  

On Wednesday, Gionfriddo held a conversation about the book at Asnuntuck Community College.  The event lasted from 12:30-3 p.m. at Cafe II.

HIs presentation was the third One-Book program held at the college in conjunction with Enfield Public Library.  It was free and open to the public. 

Gionfriddo currently serves as the CEO of Mental Health America, a position he took in 2014.  He has been involved with health and mental health organizations for over 30 years. 

Gionfriddo is also on the National Advisory Council to the SAMHSA Center for Mental Health Services.  He gained writing experience as a former weekly blog writer under the title "Our Health Policy Matters".  

Much of Gionfriddo's experience with the health care industry came from running three different non-profits.  From 1978-1991, he was an elected official in the state of Connecticut.
