There is no denying the legendary status that Stan Lee holds in the comic book industry. New York City fans will have a final opportunity to meet the genius behind Marvel this fall.
Last week it was announced that Lee is making his final New York Comic Con appearance. The event runs in the Big Apple October 6-9 at the Javits Center.
Lee will be available for autographs Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but an updated schedule will be released at a later date. Individual tickets are $50 for each of those days while a three-day pass costs $85.
As the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics, Lee is largely credited with the creation of several comic heroes. As he collaborated with other artists, characters like Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man and many more were crafted.
Lee also successfully challenged censorship policies in the industry enacted by the Comics Code Authority. The expansion of Marvel under his watch is unprecedented in the comic world.
Lee is a member of the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame. In 2011, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
