Web mogul to golf equipment designer does not seem like the most seamless transition, but it is exactly what GoDaddy.com founder Bob Parsons has accomplished.  He launched his Parsons Xtreme Golf company in late 2014 and has recently signed several PGA and LPGA Tour players to use his clubs.

Parsons now has 12 golfers on his roster including reigning Open Champion Zach Johnson, 2014 FedEx Cup winner Billy Horschel, and defending U.S. Women's Open champ Christie Kerr.  The ability to work with the best in the world is appealing to the entrepreneur who is a self-described golf nut.

A set of PXG clubs retails for around $5000, with irons costing $300 a pop and a driver running $700.  The company has 90 patents either issued or pending and is only expected to grow in popularity in the coming years.

Parsons founded Go Daddy in 1997 and sold 70 percent of the business in 2011.  That year he stepped down as CEO, but still remains a member of the board today and is the company's largest shareholder at 28 percent.

Parsons operates PXG under the YAM Worldwide Inc. banner, a company that also has interests in the real estate, powersports, and marketing industries.  He made his first big break by founding Parsons Technology, which he sold to Intuit for $64 million in 1994.

In 2013, Parsons joined The Giving Pledge and committed half his fortune to charity.  He also co-founded the Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation which provides funding to non-profit organizations in the Phoenix area.
