Albuquerque resident George R.R. Martin is jumping about Stephen King's book tour when it crashed into his city.  On June 16th, he will be with King as he promotes his latest book "End of Watch".

The event at the Kiva Auditorium in the Albuquerque Convention Center is already sold out as fans snatched up the $38 tickets.  With each seat purchase, attendees get a hardcover copy of the book and a select number of them will be signed.

Those who are lucky enough to attend will see King and Martin conduct a discussion about the book.  They will also take audience questions.

Martin has been a writer in the fantasy and science fiction genres since the 1970's.  His career began to really pop in 1996 however with the release of "A Games of Thrones", the first book of the A Song of Ice and Fire series.

"A Feast for Crows", Martin's fourth novel in the series, landed the number one spot on The New York Times bestseller list in 2005.  He also achieved the same success with the fifth installation, "A Dance with Dragons".

In 2007, HBO purchased A Song of Ice and Fire and four years later, one of the most popular series on television was born.  With a background in TV writing, Martin was heavily involved in the production of the show as it got off the ground to become a cable hit.
