One of the more recognizable pop stars of the 1970's and 80's, Toni Tennille, has a memoir out sharing some of her life experiences. Earlier this month, she was out on the road promoting the book with a pair of stops in South Florida.
Tennille made her way to the Barnes & Noble stores in Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach Gardens. At each stop, she held a signing and discussion about the book, "Toni Tennille: A Memoir".
Throughout her tour, Tennille is joined by co-author and her niece, Caroline Tennille St. Clair. In addition to signing book copies, she is also autographing memorabilia.
Tennille formed the vocal half of the duo Captain & Tennille with her ex-husband Daryl Dragon. Their 1975 cover of "Love Will Keep Us Together" launched them to fame.
It was the best-selling single of the year in the U.S. and captured the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1976. The pair would score another number one hit in 1979 with "Do That to Me One More Time".
Five Captain & Tennille albums were certified gold or platinum. Outside of the hit duo, Tennille also did plenty of musical work as an independent artist.
