Last week, one of the top celebrity chefs paid a visit to Detroit.  Food Network personality Robert Irvine was in town to sign copies of his book, “Fit Fuel: A Chef’s Guide to Eating Well, Getting Fit and Living Your Best Life”,

The book originally came out in September.  It discusses a complete road map to healthy living.

The appearance was at the Midtown Comcast Xfinity store.  The first 30 people in attendance at the signing that ran from 1-3 p.m. got a free copy of the book.

Irvine recently finished his 13th season of "Restaurant: Impossible" on the Food Network.  In addition, he has been the star of other shows on the network like "Dinner: Impossible" and "Worst Cooks in America".

Over 30-plus years, Irvine has built an outstanding reputation in the culinary world.  His cooking started gaining attention shortly after he joined the British Royal Navy at the age of 15.

In 2007, Irvine was named an Ambassador of the Culinary Institute of America.  He has also received the Medal of Honor Society's Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment.
