Nyle DiMarco has been able to bring positive exposure to the deaf community through the vehicle of reality television.  He capped off his recent effort with a win in season 22 of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday night.

DiMarco and his partner, Peta Murgatroyd, walked away with the mirror ball trophy.  They finished the competition with a 24-hour dance fusion challenge.

The show's finale episode drew 10.3 million viewers.  Dancing with the Stars will be back at it when season 23 starts in September.

DiMarco first launched into the living rooms of America during his run on "America's Next Top Model" last year.  He was the first deaf contestant on the show and went on to take the final season of the series.

Following his victory, DiMarco signed with New York-based Wilhelmina Models.  He has become a powerful advocate for the deaf community.

DiMarco is a spokesperson for Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids.  He recently started The Nyle DiMarco Foundation to provide better resources for deaf children and their families.
