Yesterday, one of the hottest celebrity chefs in the business made a special appearance in Denver, Colorado. PBS host Pati Jinich was on hand at Johnson & Wales University for a cooking demo and book signing.
The reservation-only event was held yesterday afternoon beginning at 2 p.m. She held the free cooking demo then signed copies of her new book, "Mexican Today: New and Rediscovered Recipes for Contemporary Kitchens".
The book is Jinich's second and it was published last month. Jam-packed with 320 pages of recipes, this latest cookbook certainly capitalizes on her growing popularity.
Jinich is the host of the PBS cooking show, "Pati's Mexican Table". The show is currently in its fifth season and it is influenced by her upbringing in Mexico.
This year, Jinich was nominated for two James Beard Awards. In addition to the show, she is the resident chef of the Mexican Cultural Institute.
She runs a culinary program called Mexican Table as well that schedules cooking demonstrations, tasting dinners and workshops. Jinich originally left a career as a political analyst to start the program in 2007.
