The Borgata Hotel Casino & Resort has landed a big name to start a new restaurant for them. Celebrity chef Michael Symon will debut his first Italian restaurant at the Atlantic City resort.
The new spot will open in fall of 2016 in the former Seablue space for those that are familiar with the hotel. There are five different dining options at the Borgata and a few are headlined by other cooking luminaries like Bobby Flay, Wolfgang Puck, and Geoffrey Zakarian.
Symon grew up with Greek and Sicilian influences so the new Italian concept should not be much of a stretch. The Cleveland native's hometown spots like Lolita and Lola Bistro have been credited with reviving the downtown dining scene.
It is not hard to spot Symon on your television set. He appears on an array of programs on the Food Network and is also a co-host on ABC's show The Chew.
Symon became a large national presence after winning season one of The Next Iron Chef. This past spring, he and his co-hosts on The Chew won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host.
In addition to Symon's Cleveland offerings, he also operates the Detroit restaurant Roast and two regional chains, Bar Symona and B Spot Burgers. Roast was named 2009 Restaurant of the Year by the Detroit Free Press.
