Celebrity Chef Alton Brown Photographing His Upcoming Cookbook with an IPhone
Dec 26 2015
Carson Ingle
Celebrity Chef Alton Brown is approaching the construction of his new cookbook in a unique way. Instead of the shot by high-powered cameras normally associated with books, Brown's images for "Alton Brown: Every Day Cook" will be shot entirely with an IPhone.
He recently told the Eater Upsell podcast he is going IPhone only because it is the "visual tool of our age." A photographer will still shoot the full-page photos that will be found in the book.
It is a unique approach that fits the theme of the cookbook. Every Day Cook will feature recipes that Brown uses regularly in his everyday life.
Brown is perhaps known for the 14-year run of his Food Network show, Good Eats, which explored the science and history behind cooking. Currently, he is the host of wildly popular Iron Chef America and Cutthroat Kitchen.
His work on television was honored in 2011 when he won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best TV Food Personality. Bon Appetit Magazine also dubbed Brown "Cooking Teacher of the Year" in 2004.
In addition to his TV popularity, Brown has also written ten cookbooks. To further diversify his impact in the media world he has hosted The Alton Browncast podcast since 2013.
