Last week, bestselling author Stuart Woods celebrated his latest book release. The new offering "Family Jewels" is yet another in the series that chronicles fictional character Stone Barrington.
To start off his book tour, Woods made a pair of appearances in Edmond, Oklahoma on April 5th. The events benefited the Oklahoma Center for the Book.
Woods hosted a private fundraising event at Best of Books from 4:30-5:30 p.m. He also took part in a public talk and signing at the store from 7-9 p.m.
Woods is the author of 63 novels. 38 of them have centered around the Stone Barrington story and he had produced 48 straight books to land on the New York Times bestseller list.
A diverse background gave Woods a lot of the inspiration he needed to be a writer. After graduating from the University of Georgia, he spent time in the Air National Guard, as an advertising executive, and a yachtsman.
Woods first book, "Blue Water, Green Skipper", was published in 1977 and was based on his experiences in sailing. Today, he has a publishing schedule of four books a year and will release "Dishonorable Intentions" and "Sex, Lies, and Serious Money" later in 2016.
