Bestselling author Fannie Flagg kicked off her career in Fairhope, Alabama. On Monday, she kicked off her latest book tour back where it all began.

Flagg hosted her first book signing at Page and Palette bookstore and was at it again. She signed copies of her latest work, "The Whole Town's Talking."

This will likely be Flagg's last novel. The following day, she also did a book reading and Q & A at 6 p.m. at Fairhope Civic Center.

Flagg began writing at the age of five and has written 11 books in her career. She is best know for 1987's "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe".

The book was on the New York Times bestsellers list for 36 weeks. Fried Green Tomatoes was turned into a hit film and Flagg was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

In addition to her writing, Fagg has dabbled in acting and is known for making various television appearances. She was an occasional panelist on the game show Match Game from 1973-82.
