Bestselling Author Dave Eggers Holds Pennsylvania Book Signing

Bestselling author Dave Eggers held a book signing in Pennsylvania over the weekend.  On Saturday, he was in Sewickley, a Pittsburgh suburb. 

Eggers made an appearance at Penguin Bookshop from 2-4 p.m.  He signed an array of his bestsellers at the event. 

Eggers gained great notoriety as the writer of the memoir, "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius".  It discussed how he watched over his brother following the cancer-related deaths of both parents. 

The book was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction.  The Times named it the 12th best book of the 2000's. 

Eggers writing career began as an editor at Salon.com and with the magazine he founded, Might.  He was also an original contributor for ESPN the Magazine. 

In 1998, Eggers founded McSweeney's, a top literary journal.  He is a co-founder of the nonprofit Voice of Witness and scholarship program ScholarMatch.
