There is no question that Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James is one of the athletes who banks the most when it comes to endorsements and he has had a significant relationship with Samsung for several years. James most recently can be seen in a spot promoting the company's Gear VR headset.
The headset connects to Samsung Galaxy phones to reveal a virtual reality experience to the user. In the ad, James says, "Let's Go To Work", and viewers see his morning routine first hand.
Additionally, he teamed up with his production company UNITERRUPTED and the virtual reality technology developers Oculus to create a 12-minute experience called "Striving For Greatness". The footage will be a look inside James' preparation for this current season and it can be downloaded for free from the Oculus Store or via the Samsung Milk VR app.
Forbes lists James' endorsement earnings for 2015 at $44 million. In addition to Samsung, he recently signed a lifetime deal with Nike and boasts pacts with major brands like Kia Motors, Coca-Cola, and Beats by Dre.
There is no question that James is having another banner season on the court as well. He is currently averaging 25.7 points, six assists, and 7.4 rebounds per game for the Eastern Conference-leading 21-9 Cavs.
James was originally vaulted immediately into superstardom as a high school phenom at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. He has since been an 11-time All-Star, four-time NBA MVP, and won a pair of league titles with the Miami Heat.
