Actor Sam Heughan Named Global Brand Ambassador for Barbour

The fashion brand Barbour has their first Global Brand Ambassador.  They have signed rising actor Sam Heughan to represent the brand.

As part of Barbour's role, he will participate in photo shoots and appearances with Barbour.  He will also work with the design team to create his own signature capsule collection. 

Barbour had great familiarity with the company growing up in Scotland.  His hometown is a short distance from where Barbour founder John Barbour lived.  

Heughen currently stars in the Starz series, "Outlander".  For his role as Jamie Fraser, he won a Golden Derby Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series and has been nominated for two Saturn Awards. 

Heughan has also appeared on several BBC series.  Most notably, he had a 21-episode run as Scott Nielson on the hit series, "Doctors:. 

It was on the stage where Heughan's acting career began.  He won the Lawrence Olivier Award for Most Promising Performer for "Outlying Islands" in 2002.
