William Moss loves the outdoors. The aptly named Moss uses ecology, science and landscape design to showcase nature's beauty and get people outside! Growing up as a rambunctious and inquisitive boy in upstate South Carolina led to many excursions throughout the forests and creeks of the foothills that would inspire him later in life. Encouraged by family who stressed the importance of knowledge for its own sake his love of the natural world flourished.

Beckoned by the call of new adventures, William journeyed north to Chicago for college.  After graduating from Northwestern University, he desired to impact lives through teaching. Several years within the public school system persuaded him to try an alternate route. William's new path sought to combine his passion for teaching with his love of the outdoors.

William completed the Chicago Master Gardeners program and joined the Department of Environment to help promote one of the "greenest" cities in America.  William continued to fine-tune his teaching, public speaking and landscaping expertise while on staff at the Chicago Botanic Garden, where he successfully developed, implemented, and managed new programs for youth, teens, and adults. Programs ranged from ecological sciences and curriculum development to college preparation and landscape design. 

William's venture into television began with Discovery's Rally Round the House where he taught America about gardening, landscape construction, and the 'plant-O-the-show'. On TLC's Town Haul, William enjoyed designing artistic yet functional landscapes to get people outside and active.  William continues to promote education, natural sciences, and ecology with his captivating and entertaining style. An experienced consultant and presenter with appearances on national news and radio including CNN, Sirius, and WGN William is a seasoned speaker who energy and enthusiasm is infectious.
