From the tender age of seven, Vonda has studied piano, practicing between six and eight hours a day. She also studied voice and acting, choosing ultimately to pursue her music. Shepherd started singing in LA clubs, developing a small, local following, for whom she released her first album, "The Radical Light." She continued to persist in her career, financing the production of her second album, "It's Good Eve." Then, Shepherd moved to New York shortly before David E. Kelly, a personal fan, signed Shepherd for "Ally McBeal." Over her career, Shepherd has worked with Denise Williams and Chaka Kahn, sung backup for Jackson Browne, Rickie Lee Jones and Julia Fordham and toured with Jackson Browne and Al Jarreau. Shepherd's music has been described as introspective folk rock. Shepherd has released several albums since her fame on "Ally McBeal," including "Vonda Shepherd," "By 7:30," "Songs from Ally McBeal," "Heart & Soul," "A Very Ally Christmas" and "For Once in My Life." Among her career awards, Shepherd was nominated for Favorite New Female Artist by the 5th Annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards.
