She is an American film and television actress best known for her role as Bonnie Franklin's smart and lovable daughter, Barbara Cooper, on the long-running television series One Day at a Time.
She has starred in three feature films: C.H.O.M.P.S. (1979), Ordinary Heroes (1986), and Number One with a Bullet (1987). She was also the protagonist of the miniseriesI'll Take Manhattan (1987). She has appeared in made-for-TV movies almost annually since 1979. She was also the star of two other situation comedies, "Sydney" (1990) and "Cafe Americain" (1993), both of which were canceled after short runs.
