Scott Goodyear was a professional race car driver from Ontario, Canada. He is best known for winning the Indianapolis 500 three times. Throughout his career, Goodyear raced in the IndyCar, IRL and Champ Car series.
While racing on the IndyCar, IRL, and Champ Car series, he won two races, both being the Michigan 500. In 1996, he drove in a few Champ Car races for Walker Racing before a practice accident in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil sidelined him for most of the season. He then moved to the IRL and raced for Panther Racing for three seasons.
In 2001, Goodyear retired from racing following a crash with Sarah Fisher in the Indianapolis 500. He then became a commentator for ABC and ESPN covering the IRL.
