One of the foremost authorities on consumer behavior and retailing, Dr. Blackwell was named "Outstanding Marketing Educator in America" by Sales and Marketing Executives International and "Marketer of the Year" by the American Marketing Association. He has also received the "Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award" the highest award given by Ohio State.
He has lectured around the world and is often quoted in such publications as Business Week, USA Today, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal. Dr. Blackwell has also appeared on numerous television news programs including CBS This Morning.
The author of 21 books, Dr. Blackwell is considered to be one of the founding fathers in the field of Consumer Behavior and wrote one of the leading business school texts on the subject.
He and his wife, Tina, have produced How to Grow Profits and How to Compete in the Global Marketplace, CD-ROM and CD-I programs which revolve around his presentations of the same titles.
Dr. Blackwell received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Missouri and his Ph.D. from Northwestern University. He also received an honorary doctorate degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.
He resides in Columbus, Ohio and serves on numerous boards of both privately and publicly held corporations including Airnet Systems, Applied Industrial Technologies, Checkpoint Systems, Flex-Funds, Max & Erma's, Worthington Foods, Intimate Brands and Abercrombie & Fitch.
