Rex White suffered from polio as a boy, which left him with a withered leg, but he never complained and went on with his life.

Rex White went on to become a champion and inspiring personality, both on and off the track. He continues to live in Fayetteville, Georgia.
From 1959 through 1963 Rex White won more races than any other driver, including Lee and Richard Petty, Ned Jarrett, "Fireball" Roberts, Junior Johnson, Joe Weatherly, Curtis Turner, and Buck Baker.
Rex White was Chevrolet's best and most consistent driver in the early 1960s.
