Padraig Harrington is one of the most successful European golfers the game has seen.  He is a former #6 golfer in the world.  As an amateur, Harrington enjoyed great success.  His most notable amateur win was a Walker Cup win in 1995.  In 1996, Harrington joined the European Tour.  .

His success on the European Tour fluctuated.  His first victory came quickly but for the next few years he couldn't do better than second in a number of European Tour events.  In 2000, he discovered a winning touch, and he had at least one win on the European Tour each year from then up to 2004. He has finished in the top ten on the European Tour's order of merit seven times.

He then started to appear in the U.S. more frequently at the majors and World Golf Championship events.  In 2005, Harrington became a member of the PGA Tour and in March he won his first PGA Tour official money event at the Honda Classic.

Harrington has spent a considerable amount of time in the top ten of the Official World Golf Rankings.  He has also played for Europe in four Ryder Cups.
