Norma Vally is a construction pro with the tools and attitude to get the job done. But this former model and personal trainer is hardly what you would envision when you call for a handyman. She embodies strength, beauty, skill and femininity. Considering the nature of construction work, her presence is quite impressive, even inspiring. As a young girl, born and raised in Brooklyn, Norma worked alongside her father fixing things in their home. So how did Norma, a woman with degrees in English literature and psychology, find her way back to her true calling? You can imagine the reaction of fellow workers and customers when she arrived on a construction site in work boots ready to swing her hammer.

Now, as the feisty host of Discovery Home Channel's series Toolbelt Diva, Norma pairs up with female homeowners to tackle a variety of real-life home-improvement projects. Toolbelt Diva proves that any woman can take on just about any home-improvement project with the help of Norma's knowledge and confidence. Presented in an informative and non-intimidating way, Toolbelt Diva has plenty of information and insight for men as well.

This multifaceted woman has combined her diverse talents to create "Chix Can Fix," a how-to concept that celebrates women and empowers them through knowledge. Norma is currently writing a book by the same name to share her wisdom and wit. Chix Can Fix will be an instructive and hilarious how-to manual with anecdotes accompanied by fix-it guides for women and men who are ready to fix what needs fixing and laugh until their sides hurt. The expected release date for Chix Can Fix is Fall 2005.

Prior to hosting her own show, Norma was the construction pro on Discovery Channel's Rally Round the House. Vally has made appearances on Fox's Good Day New York, CNNfn and talk shows such as The Tony Danza Show and Life & Style. Toolbelt Diva was mentioned in the New York Times front-page article that discussed how home-improvement television has played a part in the recent real estate boom nationwide.
